What exactly is Microblading?

Microblading is a form of semi-permanent makeup that creates natural, beautifully defined eyebrows with realistic hair strokes and manual shading for added definition. It’s perfect for people who have tweezed for too long or anyone looking to define, enhance and/or reshape their eyebrows.

Technically, microblading is a form of eyebrow tattooing. However, unlike traditional tattooing, which uses a machine, microblading artists apply each hair stroke with a handheld microblade. This produces a very fine line that resembles real hair. Each individual hair stroke is hand drawn by the artist and blended in with the client’s existing eyebrow hair. With a professionally and thoroughly trained brow artist, the results can be beautiful, natural and very lifelike.

Microblading typically takes two appointments to complete. In the first appointment, the client is profiled and the eyebrows are drawn on with a brow pencil, so the artist and client can agree on the look. The artist then microblades the eyebrows and the client is ready to go back into the world. There are some pre-care and aftercare required, but your microblading should be completely healed in 30 days.

The second appointment is a touch up at least 30 days after the first session, but we prefer to do it at 6 weeks. This allows enough time for the ink in the epidermis to naturally slough off, and the color to settle into your skin. In the touch up appointment, the artist can see how your skin has received the ink and make any necessary corrections.

Will it hurt?

The level of discomfort is relatively minor. Most people would rate the discomfort as a 2-3 on a scale of 1-10. Usually, a topical anesthetic is used to numb the area. Topical anesthetics are safe and may contain lidocaine, tetracaine and epinephrine.

Redness and slight swelling in the area is common after the procedure. The feeling can be compared to the experience of a slight sunburn. Tylenol is used to address any discomfort.

How long does it last?

Generally Microblading lasts six to eighteen months, depending on skin type…normal, oily or dry, as well as the age of the client…young or mature. It is not permanent like a tattoo, because the pigments are not implanted so deeply into the skin. Skincare is also a big factor in the duration of the results. It is very important to follow after care instructions. To maintain the brows, touch up appointments may be done every six to eighteen months.

Why is it necessary to do a touch up?

A touch up is necessary because everyone heals differently and therefore results may vary. Sometimes it is necessary to adjust the color and brow thickness by adding more strokes. In the touch up session, the final adjustments are made to assure the client’s satisfaction.

Anyone who fails to disclose information that would prevent services from being performed safely, will forfeit deposit and possibly be charged a cancelation fee of up to 100%. This is for your skin health and safety if we are not able to perform the service scheduled. All this information is in the new client information text sent to the phone number on file. Be sure to check that your phone number you provided at booking can receive texts for all the necessary information.

Until the deposit is received, your appointment is not confirmed.

All deposits are non refundable even in the event that a client cancels. This reserves your spot and ensures that no one else can book at that requested time. The amount will be applied to your service when it is received at the original appointment date and time.

Cancelling and rescheduling will require a new deposit and possibly payment in full to hold the requested appointment time.

We ask that you cancel with 72 hours notice to avoid a cancelation fee of up to 100% of your scheduled service. In the event of cancellation, even with the requested 72 hours notice, the deposit remains non refundable.

No call/no shows will be charged 100% of the scheduled service(s).

Due to the long nature of our services, anyone arriving later than 10 minutes for their scheduled appointment will be automatically cancelled and charged a cancellation fee of up to 100%.
